Sarah C C is a Mangawhai-based artist who is well known for her vivid colours and homage to New Zealand's beautiful landscapes.

Her extensive website had served her well but as the use of mobile devices to browse the internet is now so prevalent, it was clear that the site had to become mobile friendly.

At the same time, the popularity of the artwork range had reached the point where a fully fledged ecommerce site made complete sense.

Problems to solve

A website is never just a website. It's a way of harnessing technology to automate repetitive tasks, making it easy for customers to find what they're looking for, letting them make their buying decisions in their own time and then taking the plunge when they're ready.

That means that tackling a website isn't easy, especially if it's a fair size and needs to generate substantial sales.

Our approach

As always, we started with getting to grips with the business. We made sure we understood the product range inside and out as well as what Sarah wanted to achieve.

Then we created a digital art gallery and store that offers customers a variety of ways to browse and shop art, to suit every shopping style.

If you know what you're looking for, you can go straight to it. If you need inspiration, you can find it. If you want to browse, you can move through the gallery in your own time.

At every step, you can see what mediums each piece of art is offered in, which sizes are available and the price of each combination. Then, you can buy it online and have it shipped to your door.

To complete the site, we also added a news and events section so you can see which shows and exhibitions Sarah is exhibiting at and when her Mangawhai gallery is open to the public.

For this site, we used WordPress and its powerful ecommerce tool Woocommerce.
